Who We Are

Takoma Attachment Parenting (TAP) helps parents develop healthy, close connections with their children through family-to-family support.

We believe that treating children with respect and valuing the dignity of all family members form the basis of a fulfilling family life.

We recognize that each family is unique and encourage creativity in addressing the challenges of parenting.

TAP is an open, welcoming group that embraces the full diversity of our community.

We are located in Takoma Park, MD.  However, our community includes families from Takoma DC, Silver Spring, College Park, Riverdale, Hyattsville, and other parts of the Washington, DC metropolitan area.

We have monthly meetings as well as listservs, book and sling libraries, and activities. Children are always welcome.

We Believe...

• that all parents need support for themselves and their children

• that children should be treated with the same dignity and respect given to adults

• that community involvement is a value worth passing along to our children
